Ortjo Stepanov Foundation fosters the Karelian national writer Ortjo Stepanov's cultural heritage; it introduces his literal work to a wider audience, maintains an ethno-cultural centre established by him in Haikola, organizes exhibitions and seminars, and works to preserve the Viena Karelian cultural heritage.

The foundation works in collaboration with cultural organizations in Karelia and abroad e.g. in project work. It is also a specialist unit in the field of Viena Karelian culture.
